Class, run to the supermarket, cash check, class, drinks after class with instructor, dinner with colleagues from the Institute, supermarket, watch Burn Notice, call it a night.
It has been a busy day, but not super exciting. Lectures were on ancient Hindu and Buddhist art (brilliant, but too short) and on the Mahabharata and the Bhagavad Gita and there philosophical context (confusing and not so exciting). Food was Thai food at a much better restaurant, but service was a bit slow even for a largely take out restaurant (took 35 minutes!) but we are likely to head back there at some point. I did find a good little French bakery, the drinks were at the campus bar (but it closes at 6 in the summer) and my room is hot tonight as the trade winds are really slow.
Tomorrow is just a lecture in the morning, but it is part one of the History of India, so I am really looking forward to it. I think the art historian is going to come back, and that was really useful lecture and gave me some ideas of how to incorporate the material into part of my Western Civ 1 course. I think in the afternoon Lisa and I are going to go to a local mall, and we are likely going to go see Inception as a break from all this work. Saturday is perhaps off to a Hula festival and/or to see the royal palace in downtown. Sunday is up in the air...perhaps back to the beach for Lisa, I don't know.
Anyway, time to finish watching some tv and start relaxing for the evening.
More tomorrow...
